Thames Valley Housing’s Training Centre has held its Annual Award Ceremony in Ascot, with staff from 8 housing providers celebrating the achievement of a range of qualifications.
Thames Valley Housing’s Training Centre has held its Annual Award Ceremony in Ascot, with staff from 8 housing providers celebrating the achievement of a range of qualifications.
TVH Training centre staff and affiliates presented various awards including the Certificate in Housing, NVQs in Business Administration, Customer Service and Housing, the Level 3 Certificate in First Line Management, the A1 Assessor award and the Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector award.
TVH Chief Executive Geeta Nanda, who hosted the day, congratulated the successful learners on their achievements and praised the work of the training centre in helping 68 people achieve qualifications during the last year.
She said “It was a great opportunity to recognise the hard work of those who have gained a new qualification. I was particularly impressed by a young learner, who completed multiple qualifications within 18 months, in order to achieve an Apprenticeship in Housing.”
“All in all, it has been a very successful year for the training centre; it was highly commended at the Homes and Communities Academy Awards, and Lorraine Brown, a TVH resident, employee and training centre learner, was named as Career Development Star of the Year at the Housing Heroes awards.”
“These achievements, coupled with the launch of the Residents’ Training and Employment Centre in February, show that the training centre really is going from strength to strength.”
Along with TVH staff and residents, awards were presented to learners from Dominion Housing Group, Sentinel Housing, Slough Borough Council, Richmond upon Thames Churches Housing Trust, New Forest District Council, Richmond Housing Partnership, People first Slough and Home group.
