Two new certificated courses for housing professionals from the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) will be on offer at the Thames Valley Housing (TVH) Training Centre in 2010.
CIH Level 2
The CIH Level 2 certificate, which will be starting in May, is for anyone newly working or interested in the housing sector, and residents.
Its aim is to provide the learner with a basic understanding of the housing sector.
As a learner, you will attend TVH’s Training Centre in Twickenham for 1 day a month over 6 months.
You will learn about housing organisations, career opportunities, customer care, good communication and a range of other skills required for effective practice within the housing industry.

CIH Level 4
The CIH level 4 certificate, which will start in March, is for housing professionals who would like to gain a qualification about a specific sector of the housing industry and work towards completing the CIH professional qualification.
Level 4 is a prerequisite for studying Level 4 diploma. It also leads via the diploma to the CIH professional qualification.
The course is for one day a month, over 12 months and you will learn about housing and housing policy, customer service within housing and managing people.
You also study either a module about Neighbourhood and community services or about housing support.
