Two Thames Valley Housing (TVH) residents will boost their skills and increase their work experience, through volunteering at the National Housing Federation.
Chenjerai Chawawa and Idrissa Jalo embarked on their 6 month placement in February and work 2 days a week in the Federation’s central London offices.
Emildah Chabata, TVH Community Training and Employment Manager said: “Work experience is a fantastic opportunity for our residents to expand on their existing skill set and broaden their options for future employment.
We are working closely with the National Housing Federation to ensure that Chenjerai and Idrissa have all the support and training they require in order to get the maximum benefit out of their placements. They are both set to undertake the qualifications in Business Administration through our training centre.”
Kerry Price, HR Projects Officer at the Federation, said: “We are delighted to be involved with TVH’s Resident Training and Employment Centre. The scheme offers a great service to its residents, providing them with the opportunity and support they need in order to improve their skills to gain employment and/or progress with their careers.”
The move marks the Federation’s support of TVH’s Resident Training and Employment Centre, launched last February to help TVH residents into work though training, volunteering and mentoring.
