Thames Valley Housing has been named Best Large Housing Association, achieving gold at the What House awards, held at the Dorchester last week.
TVH also won silver for the Best Shared Ownership development for its St Mary’s development in Wantage, Oxfordshire. The development boasts a mix of new and refurbished homes on the Grade II listed site of a former girl’s school.
The What House judges said, “Thames Valley Housing has adopted the phrase ‘reach for excellence’ as its mantra, and has applied this approach across the business, resulting in innovation, excellent customer service and a reputation for building strong partnerships”
Thames Valley Housing’s successes during the year included launched its own 100% mortgage, achieving the government’s Customer Service Excellence standard and helping over 1900 people into affordable homes.
Praising the St Mary’s development, judges highlighted the range of sizes, styles and and prices, saying the scheme provided a “genuinely mixed community, as well as the skilful refurbishment preserving the vernacular style”.
Geeta Nanda, TVH, CEO, said, “I am absolutely delighted that that we have received these awards. They recognise our commitment to providing excellence in everything we do from working with our partners to ensuring people live in well-designed homes and receive excellent services.”
