Investing in your communities

The TVH Community Investment Strategy was launched in February 2010. It is a three year programme which includes working with local youth services, developing a Young People’s Forum, improving access to community services for local residents, providing training and managing TVH’s Community Chest fund.

The programme contains two strands; Community Investment and Community Chest. It is monitored by the TVH residents who form the Community Investment Advisory Group.

Community Investment

Hounslow, Rushmoor and Reading have been identified as the local authoritiy areas that would benefit from a range of investment in their communities.

In March, TVH held a two day consultation with its residents in each area to find out what community provision they would like.  The residents’ views will contribute to determining how £50,000 of investment for each area will contribute to improving local services for the whole community and not just TVH residents.

Community Chest

This was launched as a stand-alone project in 2007 and is now part of TVH’s Community Investment Strategy.

It provides funding to TVH residents, community projects and wider community based charitable programmes working within all TVH’s areas.  It is open to TVH residents and non-TVH residents.

Local initiatives

Although not part of the community investment strategy, formal and informal estate based residents groups can work to provide or improve something within their communities.

We can help you organise and fund your group.  If you would like more information about this, please email Eleanor Morgan on 0208 607 0763 and visit our pages on estate-based groups.
