TVH Takes Fourth NHS Accommodation Transfer - 07/01/02
Thames Valley Housing Association has today taken over the ownership and management of 250 units of staff accommodation at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust in west London. Thames Valley Housing will be embarking on a major programme of rebuilding and refurbishment to improve the hospital accommodation for staff.
Hillingdon Hospital is the fourth NHS Trust to transfer its staff accommodation to Thames Valley Housing. TVH now manages over 600 units of NHS staff accommodation, making it one of the largest independent providers of NHS staff accommodation in the country.
The programme of improvements includes provision of family accommodation, access points for telephones and IT, and en-suite facilities. All places will continue to be filled by staff members nominated by the Trust.
The Trust chose Thames Valley Housing on the basis of their track record on delivering and managing development schemes of this size, and the quality and cost-effectiveness of their accommodation, said David McVittie, Chief Executive of The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust. The partnership will enable us vastly to improve the standard and range of accommodation available to our staff.
