Thames Valley Housing On-Line Goes On The Road - 08/04/02
Thames Valley Housing is helping tenants with little or no experience of the Internet to use its new online repairs reporting service. Repairs reporting is just one of the features of the new TVH website, www.tvha.co.uk, which is being launched to residents through a series of roadshows in London, Feltham, Reading and Guildford. A facilitator will be available to help residents discover the benefits of both the TVH website and the wider Internet.
The website has gone live following a consultation period when a group of residents were asked to test the online repairs reporting and other facilities. As part of a project with Kensington & Chelsea College and Tesco, TVH residents in the Earls Court area, who had never used the Internet before, were able to visit the Tesco internet café and, with the help of a professional facilitator, try out the TVH site and learn more about the web.
Tenants who register on the site can also view their rent account, and access a range of TVH publications, policies and information. All residents will be sent a booklet explaining the facilities available on the new website and how to use them. The site also features online job applications and general news and information about Thames Valley Housing.
