New Resident Board Member for Thames Valley Housing - 02/04/03
Chris Butters, a tenant from Reading, has been appointed to the Board of Thames Valley Housing.
Chris, who lives in Whitley, was nominated as a potential Board Member by his local Resident Consultative Group. He attended several Board meetings as an observer before joining as a full member.
The Board is a voluntary body which is responsible for the governance of the Association. It comprises both housing association residents and professional people such as solicitors, financial experts and lawyers who give up their time in order to help create and manage affordable homes for people in need.
Chris works for APAC Training on their European Social Funded home-based computer training operation, having spent many years in the tourism industry, and is looking forward to being able to give something back to the community.
Reading has been a major area of growth for the association over recent years. It already has nearly 500 properties in the Reading local authority area and over 75 more are currently on site, with a further 75 in the pipeline.
