New Affordable Homes for Staines - 20/08/03
The Worshipful the Mayor of the Borough of Spelthorne, Councillor G S Ceaser opened a new development of affordable housing today at Commercial Road, Staines.
The development at Parkside Place and Octavia Way, has been built by a partnership of Thames Valley Housing, the Borough of Spelthorne and Kingsoak Southern Counties. There are 19 homes for rent made up of eight, 1 bedroom flats and eleven 2, 3 and 5 bedroom houses. There are also 17 homes for shared ownership, a scheme where homebuyers purchase a percentage of the property and pay a reduced rent on the remaining share. They can purchase further shares in the property as, and when they can afford to. The shared ownership development is made up of eight, 1 bedroom flats and nine, 2 and 3 bedroom houses.
