Peter Williams to succeed Michael Barrott as chair - 30/09/04
Peter Williams, Deputy Director General of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, is to be the new Chair of the Thames Valley Housing (TVH) group.
Mr Williams was appointed from outside the existing Board following advertisements in the housing press. He is a former Board Member of the Housing Corporation. He takes over from independent housing consultant Michael Barrott whose term as a Board member is ending, in accordance with the Group’s rules, after 12 years, the last 6 as Chair.
Michael Barrott said, “I have had the opportunity to chair Thames Valley Housing during a period of unprecedented growth and change. Providing thousands of homes for those failed by the open market whilst delivering and improving upon a modern, responsive service has been a challenging and exhilarating experience both for me and for the organisation. I wish both Peter and Thames Valley Housing every success, and I am confident that they will continue to go from strength to strength."
Peter Williams commented, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of Thames Valley Housing. I was particularly attracted to the association because it is a major local business and has a clear vision of its role as a provider of rented homes, low cost home ownership and key worker accommodation to a wide range of households with all the social and economic benefits that brings to them and their communities.
