Jennetts Park – the right homes in the right place for a great community - 22/09/08
Thames Valley Housing (TVH) celebrated the completion of 21 affordable homes at Jennetts Park, Peacock Lane, Bracknell, Berkshire this week. A ten phase urban village development of approximately 1,400 new homes overall, with 300 of them affordable, Jennetts Park is a cooperative effort involving Thames Valley Housing working in partnership with Bracknell Forest Council, Windsor Housing, William Sutton Homes, and developers’ Persimmon and Redrow.
The overall plan for Jennetts Park includes an adventure playground behind the affordable homes as well as a school and doctors surgery within the village.
Cllr Dale Birch, Deputy Leader of Bracknell Forest Borough Council and Executive Member for Adult Services, Health & Housing highlights: “This development is providing new affordable homes in an appealing neighbourhood. Jennetts Park is key to delivering affordable homes for the Borough, and I’d like to thank all the housing s that contributed for their hard work.’’
Jennetts Park is part-funded by a Housing Corporation Social Housing Grant. There are affordable rent properties available through William Sutton Homes and disabled-adapted homes are available through Windsor Housing, which is part of Radian.
Geeta Nanda, Thames Valley Housing CEO, comments: “Bracknell Forest Borough Council’s vision for this new development is absolutely exemplary. It is about providing the right homes, in the right place for local people in a great community. Our purpose here is to make owning a home more accessible. First time buyers are still finding it almost impossible to make that all-important initial step onto the property ladder, despite a drop in property prices. I am delighted that TVH has been able to provide that opportunity here at Jennetts Park.
