Right to Buy and Right to Acquire

If you are a Secure Tenant you may have the ‘Right to Buy’ your home at less than market value. For more information contact the Customer Service Centre on 0800 358 7767.

If you are an Assured Tenant you may have the ‘Right to Acquire’ your home, if it was built after 1997.

New Build Home Buy (formerly Shared Ownership)

New Build Home Buy is a scheme where you buy a percentage of a newly built property, and pay a reduced rent on the remaining share. You can purchase a further percentage at any time until you own the property outright.

To be nominated for New Build Home Buy you need to register with your local authority, even if you are already living in a housing association home.
