Anti-Social Behaviour, Racial Harassment, Domestic Violence and other Hate CrimesMost people live happily alongside their neighbours and do not experience any difficulties; however we can help you if you need support or believe you are being disturbed or threatened in any way. We take these reports very seriously and have a number of policies and procedures in place to provide help. We guarantee absolute confidentiality at all time. We urge you to contact us if you are suffering from anti-social behaviour, racial harassment, domestic violence or any other form of hate crime. Reporting Anti-Social BehaviourCall the Customer Service Centre on 0800 358 7767 and choose option 3, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. Reporting Anti-Social Behaviour Out-of-Office HoursMessage Line: 0800 0232087It may not be convenient for you to call us during office hours when we are open, and if you have to wait a few days before you report an incident to us, you may not be able to remember everything that happened, especially if you weren't able record it at the time. You can call the message line at any time during the night, and all weekend. Your message will be recorded and a TVH Officer will get back to you within 10 working days. You can call the Customer Service Centre for an update at anytime. This number is not a replacement for Emergency Services and in an emergency you should call 999. What is Anti-social behaviour? The Government has defined anti-social behaviour as: "Behaviour which causes (or is likely to cause) harassment, alarm or distress to one or more people from another household." It can range from inconsiderate parking to acts of violence. Initially, we encourage people who are experiencing anti-social behaviour to resolve the problem informally by talking to their neighbours. If this is not possible please contact us for help. We have put together an information sheet on Anti-social behaviour which you can download by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. All Portable Document Format files require Adobe Acrobat software which can be obtained - free - from the Adobe website. Please click here to download Adobe Acrobat Reader. Racial HarassmentWe treat all incidents as a racist incident if it is perceived in this way by the victim or the person reporting it. We will work with the victim(s) to offer support, produce an action plan and take action against the person carrying out the harassment, if that is what the victim wants. We have put together an information sheet on Racial Harassment which you can download by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page. Domestic ViolenceThis can happen in any kind of relationship. It is normally carried out by men on women but this is nor always the case. It can involve threatening behaviour, violence, physical, emotional or psychological abuse. It can be difficult to ask for help as victims may feel it is their fault, however this kind of abuse is always a crime. We will treat any report you make in strictest confidence and you will be dealt with by the same officer at all times. Hate CrimesThese are crimes which target a victim for any reason. This could be because of their age, gender, sexual orientation or religion for example. What we will do.If you are experiencing any of these we will:
