Homebuy for Key Workers

What is a Key Worker?

A key worker is a public sector worker, working in the following areas:

  • Clinical staff working for the NHS;
  • Qualified teachers working for government funded organisations;
  • Front line staff in the police force;
  • Prison officers working for government funded prisons;
  • Probation officers working for the probation service;
  • Certain employees within the fire and rescue services;
  • Some Local Authority occupations.
How do you apply for Homebuy?

Firstly you need to ensure tht you're applying the right Homebuy Agent. Thames Valley Housing can accept applications from Key Workers who work in Surrey and non-Key Workers who live in Surrey.

If you want to apply for one of the Newbuild Homebuy schemes in Surrey and you don't fall into one to the above categories then you need to apply to the relevant Homebuy agent along with a covering letter notifying the agent that you wish to be nominated for a Surrey Newbuild property.

Secondly, to fill out an application form you must visit the homebuy4u website site where you can register and fill out an application. You can also phone the TVH Homebuy line on 0845 600 6699 and we'll send you an information pack or email the Homebuy team stating your name, address and a contact telephone number.

Once we have your application we aim to be in touch within 8 working days to let you know whether you have been accepted or not.

You can download our leaflets about Homebuy at the bottom of the page.
