NVQs in HousingNational Vocational Qualifications assess an individual's performance in the work place and certifies that they are qualified to a nationally recognised standard.The candidate is supported by an assessor, assessed within the workplace, and provides case studies, assignments, projects and reports to acheive the qualification. To gain the qualification candidates must demonstrate that they are competent at their job. There is no pass or fail. If the candidate does not reach a suitable level of competence to acheive the qualification, then further training will be identified to ensure that they can demonstrate competency. To achieve the qualification candidates must acheive a number of mandatory and optional units. Level 2 is suitable for those who are just starting out in the housing industry. Candidates must acheive 7 units, 4 mandatory and 3 optional. Level 3 is suitable for those who are already established in the housing industry and would like to develop their skills and knowledge further. Candidates must acheive 8 units, 5 manadatory and 3 optional. Level 4 is suitable for those who are in housing management positions. Candidates must acheive 9 units, 6 mandatory and 3 optional.
