Residents of Greyhound Close in Ash said ‘good riddance to bad rubbish’ when they got together on a Saturday morning in March to tidy up their estate.
They also got the chance to clear out all their unwanted household items at the ‘Good rubbish day’ organised by Thames Valley Housing (TVH) who manage the homes.
The residents were helped by staff from repair company Mears and Cleanscapes, who maintain the grounds; both of whom gave their time for free.
TVH staff were also on hand, including Eleanor Morgan, Resident Involvement Officer, who has organised a number of these events.
She said, “The day was really successful. The estate, including garden sheds, got a real tidy-up, and residents got rid of old household items, taken away in a truck donated by Mears. Most importantly residents had the chance to get to know each other and work together to take pride in their homes and community.”
