West Wycombe youngsters have turned bare land into a beautiful garden, thanks to one young gardening enthusiast and TVH.
A dozen youngsters with their Mums and Grannies turned out to help their neighbour, 8 year old Reeon Cook-Hardy who wanted to develop a garden at his Thames Valley Housing (TVH) managed home.
The residents spent the day building raised beds before planting them with flowers, fruit and vegetables, including beans, sweet corn, potatoes and strawberries, all donated by TVH.
Reeon, who is a member of his school’s gardening club, also produced the posters which were printed and distributed around the estate by TVH’s Ellie Morgan, Resident Involvement Officer, who also helped out day.
Eleanor Morgan, Resident Involvement Officer, co-ordinated the event and led the garden-making. She said, “It was a great day. The residents got the chance to get to know each other, and thanks to Reeon’s commitment and everyone’s hard work, they now have a garden to be proud of.”
Reeon’s Mum said, “I Just wanted to say thank TVH on behalf of everyone who took part for helping us create this garden. The kids absolutely loved it and we’ve achieved exactly what we wanted.”
