TVH has shown support for a community football team by providing them with sponsorship. Rushmoor Community Foresters FC hold weekly training sessions and matches for mental health sufferers. Sponsorship has allowed the club to continue to help local residents.
The sessions help them to reap the physical and social benefits of playing football. Lack of sponsorship put the clubs future in doubt, until investment from TVH’s Community Chest allowed the club to purchase new equipment, replace old kits and ensured the clubs future is stable.
Julia Fox from the club said “My concern was that not finding a sponsor would cause us to fold at the end of the season. The sponsorship not only ensured our survival, but also allowed us to buy better equipment and provide the team with new kits and training jackets. They look well presented for their games and feel more confident about themselves. TVH have been brilliant”.
The club are affiliated with Woking FC and also offer confidence building days, healthy eating courses and the opportunity to complete a level one football coaching badge. They are encouraging more people to participate and hope to raise further awareness in the local community.
Barry Malki, Community Investment manager at TVH, who oversaw the sponsorship, said “I first met Julia in full goalie kit at an event over the summer. Her passion for the Rushmoor Foresters team was immediately apparent. She works tirelessly to coach, manage and promote the team, and brings her own experience into play to inspire her team-mates. The story behind the endeavour is amazing. I am glad that TVH can be a part of it”.
