Last year we launched our latest community initiative, the Good Neighbour Award. We asked residents and non-residents to nominate a Thames Valley Housing (TVH) resident they thought has been a good neighbour.
Jamie Hutchinson, Community Investment Officer, who launched the initiative said, “This is a great way for us to recognise the fantastic contributions our residents make to the local community, and it was uplifting to hear the response of those when I told them they had been nominated. There are some incredibly generous and caring people who now know how much people value their support and good work, just for being who they are.”
Liz Reed, one of the winning residents, of Twickenham said, “I’m humbled to be nominated and grateful to TVH. I’ve always believed if you want good neighbours, you’ve got to be a good neighbour yourself.”
Rebecca Vaughan-Spencer of Worcester Park added, “I’m touched by receiving the award. I haven’t saved a life, just helped neighbours with day to day things, and kept them informed on what’s going on in the community. I’ve also helped with giving tenants access to the gym as unity in the community is vital, for both homeowners and social housing tenants.”
All nominees were awarded with a certificate of recognition and the winners each received £250 Love2shop vouchers.
