A group of Thames Valley Housing (TVH) residents aged 8-16 years old recently spent the day at Longridge Activity Centre in Marlow to take part in some outdoor activities.

The trip was organised and funded by TVH’s Resident Involvement team, with the aim of bringing young Thames Valley Housing residents together to meet each other and try some new activities. TVH supplied transport for residents to and from pick up points in Slough and Reading.  Two parents also attended with their children.

The group participated in three activities throughout the day. In the morning, they tested their driving skills on the go-kart track and then got together in teams to play two games of laser tag. After lunch the group tried water orbing; this involved being inside a plastic bubble in a small pool, allowing participants to walk on water!

Feedback from the families was extremely positive, with one parent commenting: “Both myself and my son had a totally amazing time! Thank you and we would love for some more events to be organised.”

Louise Oppe, Resident Events and Communications Officer said: “The day was an opportunity for us to engage with a different group of residents, and I hope to be able to organise more events like this in the future”.
