The GoodGym Woking initiative launched this Wednesday at Anytime Fitness in Woking Town Centre. Runners met there at 6.45, before jogging together to Woking Park to help clear the paths in preparation for the park run, which is held every Saturday morning.
We are proud to support this great social project which aims to get people active, whilst working together on a physical task within their community. This can be anything from gardening, to changing a light bulb for an isolated elderly person. As long as runners are able to run for 15 minutes they are able to take part.
Woking Mayor, Councillor Graham Cundy attended the launch, alongside our own Community Access Officer, Rudi Nicholls who said “it was great to see everyone come together to get fit, but also to get to know each other and do good for the community. I’m looking forward to all the good work the runners will do in the future.”
