We inspect our sites regularly. Our Service Promise says that we’ll remove all dumped rubbish within five working days. If we can identify who’s dumped the items we’ll recharge them the costs of removal, but it can be really difficult, so we end up charging the costs to the whole site.
The good news is most local authorities offer a removal service for large items of rubbish.
The frequency and costs for these can vary -for example, Hounslow Council run their Tidy Town Waste Collection service. If you call: 020 8583 2000 you can have up to 5 Items collected from your home for £40. Also, residents on income related benefits are entitled to one free collection a year.
They also run The Hounslow Furniture Recycling Project and will collect reusable items of furniture that are in good condition, free of charge. Items are then made available to residents on low incomes to purchase from a showroom in Isleworth.
Check out your local councils website for more information about rubbish removal. And don’t forget Freecyle – (https://www.freecycle.org/) where you can advertise unwanted items for other people to make use of.
