Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

Personal Independence Payment (PIP), formerly known as Disability Living Allowance (DLA), helps cover extra costs incurred if you suffer from ill health or disability. It is available to people between the ages of 16 – 64. It is available to whether you are in or out of work.

The maximum amount of PIP you can receive per week

PIP has two components; Daily Living and Mobility. Whether you receive one or both payments depends on how your condition affects you.

Mobility component
Standard – £21.55
Enhanced – £56.75

Daily living component
Standard – £54.45
Enhanced – £81.30

How to claim

Contact the Department for Work and Pensions on 0800 917 2222 to make a claim.

Your claim will be assessed by an independent health professional. You’ll be regularly reassessed to make sure that you’re receiving the support you need.
