We can help you get on to a range of courses to help you grow the skills and confidence to find a job. We can also help with finding a paid work placement and training for people wanting to work in a wide range of industries. We can help you with enrolling at a local college. You spend the first few months at college learning the theory, and then do a paid work placement to put the theory into practice.

Most courses are free if you are a Thames Valley Housing customer. If you’re interested in any the courses, please get in touch the relevant Training and Employment Officer here

We can help you enrol on apprenticeships in wide and varied industries such as construction, childcare, housing, administration and many many others, for anyone interested in earning as you learn.

West London Training are offer free training in Electrical and Plumbing Installation for young people aged 16-18.  The course leads to a Level 1 City & Guilds qualification, and runs for 2 ½ days per week for 15 weeks.  The qualification, together with a good reference from WLT provides young people with an excellent opportunity to gain an apprenticeship position.

Volunteering and Work Experience

We can arrange work experience in a variety of different teams, from working outside with our grounds maintenance partners, to office roles within Thames Valley Housing itself.  Many people have done work experience with us and then gone on to get apprenticeships and paid employment elsewhere.
